Nashville, TN, Golf Trip, Grub, and Libations: Vol.2
Legend has it that President Theodore Roosevelt, after having a cup of coffee at the Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville, coined the phrase “good to the last drop”. The hotel is no longer around, but the phrase lives on, not only for the Maxwell House coffee brand, but for the city of Nashville itself. We at Golf Fore It experienced as much this past Summer.
We all know that Nashville is called the Music City, and for good reason, but that isn’t the only thing it has going for it. During our raucous adventure to this rockin’ city, we found our way to some premier golf, tasty libations, and mouth watering cuisine.
Golf Nashville
We spent a perfect Nashville morning and afternoon enjoying all 36 holes that the Hermitage Golf courses had to offer. They boast two of the best public courses The Volunteer State has to offer. It started off with the President’s Reserve where we were greeted by the famous Hermitage black-faced Scottish sheep that roam the course. Now, we have traveled many places in this great Country of ours to play golf, and seen all sorts of wildlife on courses, but this was definitely a first for our crew. Fortunately, we were with a local golfer, and friend of Golf Fore It, Zac Radford (@realzacradford on Insta). He was kind enough not to make us feel too bad while we hacked it up around our first round. After a much needed refueling at the clubhouse, which was serving up some local craft brews and delicious lunch specials, we headed out to tackle the General’s Retreat. Although the General’s retreat wasn’t too kind to us, which is probably due to a few too many of those tasty beverages during intermission, it was a complete pleasure to play.
If you have a chance to play 36 in a day in the Nashville area, Hermitage is the place to do it.
Top Notch Fare & Entertainment
If you like it hot, then the famous hot chicken won’t disappoint. Edley’s Bar-B-Que is a perfect place to put your taste buds on fire, and cool them down with a delicious ice cold local craft beer.

Edley’s Bar-B-Que
This Nashville institution knows how to please the palate, so if the hot chicken isn’t in your wheelhouse, then try their meat and three, which just so happens to be another Nashville tradition.
If you’re like us, it’s nice to enjoy an after dinner cocktail. And boy do we have the spot for you! Patterson House is one of the best places we’ve been during our travels when it comes to hand crafted cocktails. Their mixologists are at the top of the class when it comes to

preparing premier libations that will cure all your ailes, which in our case was that three footer for our only chance at a birdie that day.
When you’re in the music city the night doesn’t stop with an after dinner cocktail, cause now it’s time to head down to Broadway St. and enjoy the vast amount of live music to rock the night away! Just remember to drink responsibly, or you’ll end up like this guy.
