Well, Golf Fore It had a rough start on this course. Staying up late the night before seemed like such a good idea. We even lost Matt half way through but at least his was not self-induced. Despite the over indulgence this course was a perfect fit for us. The Republic Golf Club has many layers and can be very forgiving to all levels of play with 5 sets of tees to choose from. The scenery is spectacular as this course is lined with oak, elm and mesquite trees. We also cannot overlook how well maintained the course was as the fairways, tee boxes and greens were pristine. So good in fact this course is ranked, voted the #1 course by the Express News (What, you’ve never heard of the Express News?). Our favorite part to this course are the Par 5’s. They are big, they are long and they are something to brag about.
Lastly, to further Golf Fore It’s claim that some of the nicest folks live in Texas. Our crew did have an Angel looking out for us this day, as we struggled to stay focused, a random cart came passing through with a keg on the back. They were in the midst of setting up for an outing and graciously offered us a libation before heading to the next hole…Thank you Mr. Angel.
