La Cantera Golf Course – Palmer Course

One of the nicest courses the Golf Fore It team has played. The club house at La Cantera Golf Course – Palmer Course has spectacular views and the course was challenging and well taken care of. Emphasis added on challenging, this was the first course I snapped a club out of frustration.  After snapping my fairway wood in two, I very respectfully placed the club among its family and friends in the wooded area near by. I believe it’s in a good place now.

The Palmer course has a great layout and each hole takes you through different terrain. There are elevated tee boxes on Par 3’s and 4’s, link style and blind tee shots. Still don’t believe me? Ranked #2 on the Top 30 Resorts in North America and among the Top 50 Golf Resorts in the U.S. Designed by The Arnold Palmer Design Company this course also adds waterfalls on hole 18, and an 80-foot downhill slope to the green.  I will also add that this course is managed by a great group. The pace of play slowed tremendously, not because of us, and the Golf Pro was on it. Although he shortened the Par 5 and had us tee off on the fairway, they did compensate us with a much needed libation on the house.
